INVITED AREA

  • All residents of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut are invited to attend Master’s Toronto Satsang.
  • No one from the Province of British Columbia or from the U.S. may attend the Toronto Satsang Program. All sangat may only attend one program as per their designated area.

PROGRAM – There will be a spiritual question and answer session beginning at 10:00 am.

ARRIVAL TIME – Please do not arrive at the site prior to 5:30 am. Arriving before this time and parking outside the site causes disturbance to the local community and is a traffic safety hazard to other road users. Unauthorized parking outside the site may result in violations or fines. Those who have arrived early will not be admitted into the satsang Pavilion until the posted opening time. To be fair to those who arrive no earlier than the scheduled time, a random line selection system for entering the Pavilion will be implemented.

Attending Satsang with Children

  • All children in the Family Area must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who is at least 18 years old.
  • One parent/guardian can care for a maximum of 4 children.
  • Children under 10 years of age must go to the Family Area accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • Children aged 10-15 may attend Satsang in the Pavilion or remain in the Family Area, but in both cases must accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • Children aged 16 years or older must attend Satsang.
Please visit the Family Area section for additional information.

SEATING – The sangat must be seated by 9:15 am. Those who would like to be seated together should arrive together. Reserving or holding seats for others will NOT be permitted. For the safety and comfort of all, please co-operate with the sevadars.

SIMULTANEOUS TRANSLATIONS – There will be simultaneous translation as follows:

  • Punjabi to English
  • English/Punjabi to French
Designated seating areas in the Satsang Pavilion with headphones have been arranged for this purpose. Please note that there is limited seating in these areas so seating will be available on a first-come first-served basis.

Hearing Impaired – A small section within the simultaneous translation area has been equipped with headsets for the Hearing Impaired (original audio amplified for hard of hearing).

RESTRICTED ITEMS – Mobile phones, smart watches, pagers, cameras, binoculars, laser pointers, MP3 players including iPods, fitbits, audio video recorders, electronic games or any other electronic items MUST NOT be brought into the Satsang Venue. Any such items brought to the site must be deposited with sevadars.

  • Photography and audio/video recording using any electronic device including mobile phones is NOT permitted anywhere on the Study Centre. If sangat members are observed using a recording device, they will be requested to delete the recorded content.
  • Large bags and purses (measuring over approximately 16" x 15"), and food and drinks (other than water), will NOT be permitted inside the Satsang Venue. You may bring small snacks in case of medical need. All bags will be inspected and sangat will go through a security check upon entry.

NOTE TAKING – It is the Master’s wish that we take full advantage of his presence and not spend time and attention taking notes. You are kindly asked to refrain from taking notes during the question and answer sessions. The taking of notes and passing of such notes to others by any means, including the Internet, is strongly discouraged.

Community Relations – To maintain a good relationship with the community and the local government, the sangat is requested to be kind and courteous to each other, the sevadars, the local authorities and the neighbouring community.

Packed Lunch & Morning Tea – A packed meal consisting of a wrap, granola bar, cookies, and juice will also be available after the Satsang Program. The sangat is requested not to bring or eat food inside the Satsang Venue. However, the sangat can bring their own lacto-vegetarian food to have a picnic with family/friends after Satsang. Tea and cookies will be available in the morning from 6am to 8am. Only cash or pre-purchased coupons will be accepted.

Weather – The weather in East Garafraxa is often windy and cooler than surrounding cities. Wearing layers is recommended. The Satsang Pavilion is an open-sided structure without heating facilities so please dress appropriately for the weather. It is advisable that the sangat prepare for the possibility of exposure to either rain or direct sun while on site. Note that there may be outdoor seating or seating in tents.

Shoes and Clothing – Due to uneven ground and long distances from parking areas, flat walking shoes are advised. As a courtesy to others, clothing should be modest and appropriate for the occasion.

Perfumes, Scents, Smoking and Pets – Please be considerate of others with health issues (allergies, asthma, etc.) and avoid wearing any perfumes or other scents. No smoking in any form including e-cigarettes and e-pipes is allowed on the satsang property. Pets other than certified service animals are not allowed anywhere on the satsang property.

Main Gate Access – At the entrance area of the Toronto Study Centre, sevadars and law enforcement officers will be directing traffic. It is important that all approaching traffic follow their directions.

DROP-OFF, PICK-UP, PARKING, AND EXIT – For those who are only dropping off or picking up sangat and not attending the satsang program, there will be a quick entry/exit access route at the Study Centre.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO WALKING AND NO STOPPING TO DROP-OFF OR PICK-UP ON THE ROADS OUTSIDE OF THE STUDY CENTRE.

Please be patient when exiting the site and follow the instructions of the sevadars. Note that it may take approximately 4 hours to exit due to the high volume of cars exiting the site.

For sangat travelling by air, it is suggested that you book your departing flight for at least 12 hours after the end of the satsang program to give yourself time to reach the airport in the event that there are delays exiting the Study Centre.

Special Needs Shuttle Service – Shuttle vehicles will be available to pick up elderly sangat or those with special needs from designated pick-up points in the parking areas and bring them to the check-in points. At the entrance of the main building, sevadars with wheelchairs will be available to help sangat.
Please note that aside from this temporary wheelchair assistance to help sangat enter the building, wheelchairs will not be provided for general use.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS – There will be a question and answer session. Those who wish to ask a question of the Master will be selected through a random draw each day before satsang. The selection area will open at 7:30 am and close at 8:30 am after which the selection will take place. If you wish to ask a question, find your seat and then come to the question and answer selection area . If you are not selected you must return to your seat. Once the selection is complete, no one may join the question and answer line.
